Description

A cranky little shuttle, it's owner used it as a glorified taxi running passengers and cargo back and forth between civilization and the war torn continent of Goereth on the planet Neliv 7. Finally one fateful day, while giving a soldier a ride out of the combat zone he was offered a job as crew on the soldier's inherited ship; all he had to do was get the soldier and his friends to the ship, which was in another system.

After multiplying his life savings by a factor of 10 by betting on a fixed gladiatorial event, the mechanic used this ship to escape Neliv 7 and pass through a gateway. Unfortunately the adjoining gate was damaged and accelerated the S.S. POS to 3 times it's top speed, damaging it's engines and destroying it's heat shielding as they passed through the edge of an asteroid field. The situation seemed dire until a police patrol boat towed the scrappy ship to a station and the owner was able to affect repairs.

Active in a part of the Milky Way galaxy that has several advanced species that range in height from 4ft to 11ft, the S.S. POS has passenger seats in it's cargo hold for varying heights; the pilot's compartment has just two standard sized seats, but does have enough room for a single giant sized passenger to squeeze in, should the hull be compromised in the cargo area. The only entrance/exit is a standard air-lock at the rear that can be coupled with cargo modules, but doing so removes the ships atmospheric capabilities.  With ion drive engines that top out at a factor of 10 (36.5 days per light year), the ship was not designed for travel outside of a single system, except through the use of gateways. Minimal navigation and sensor systems further handicap this ship outside of a civilized star system and thus it is really unfit for interstellar travel..

It does have room for upgrades however...
