Mack 3K Tug 07

The Mack 3K Tug is a standardized modular fleet cargo hauler designed for maximum versatility. Standardized airlock connections are used to attach up to three cargo tubes, each carrying up to four standard large cargo containers. While not designed for planetary delivery, the Tug itself is atmosphere capable; when not pulling cargo tubes the thrusters retract, allowing for a more compact profile in atmospheric traffic and planet-side spaceports.

Independent contractors often purchase a Mack 3K on contract with commercial shipping companies, running standard routes for a few years in order to pay off the boat before setting up their own business.

Without tubes, the Mack 3K has exceptional speed, a good 25% greater than average. Reduce this by 25% for each tube attached.

Independents often purchase a secondary market tube that is equipped with it's own thrusters and expanded living quarters, allowing for increased cargo capacity, greater speed and the creature comforts of a home away from home.

Designed for a three person crew, the Mack 3K can be operated by a single pilot in a pinch, but it is not recommended in heavily populated regions of space as the navigational computers are not fully integrated to the pilots station.

The command deck houses the bridge with a pilot's station, communications station and navigation. Behind this is the cramped living space with a full head, small kitchen and 3 bunks with a large locker for personal belongings. Most three man crews install a collapsing table and entertainment system on the mid-deck to reduce the claustrophobia.
